Gona try and write more here. I really enjoyed when I was on before. Life has just been a little looney. So I fell way behind. Plus changed computers and without the bookmarks, I would forget everything. lol
Not much tonight as I have a roaring migraine. So get ready..the next post will have lots of updates.
Well I haven’t been on in a while . It has been a busy summer and I also couldn’t log on for awhile. Kody fixed that problem for me and now I am ready to go .:)
I will summarize a bit on the summer. Several things have happened really. Jeffery was in a 4-wheeler wreck and had to be life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital. We were so scared he wasn’t gonna pull through. Helmets are so important. I know they aren’t always the most comfortable, or the latest fashion craze. But they can save you alot of grief. Luckily he is doing much better. Still in quite a bit of pain, headaches ect. Ans his hearing hasn’t returned in his right ear. His right eye still drives him crazy too. It is a little lazy and blurry. Recovery will probably be pretty long. We are just so grateful he is o.k. Many prayers went out for him and I truly feel they were what made the difference.
Payton and Kaeli are growing so fast. Payton is full of energy and such fun to have around. He loves to help with the feeding and to “hold a baby chicken, duck etc” I can’t believe he will be 3 soon. He is almost riding his bicycle without training wheels. Well one broke off and he still flies around the yard. So he is half way there
Kaeli is finally getting where we can hold her too. She was a Mamas girl for a long time. Now she will let us all hold her for a bit. She has a smile that is a mile wide. The cutest dimples just like Payton (thanks Melissa ) lol She seems to be teething, even though the Dr. says not yet…..But she could gnaw her hand off…. She also sucks her thumb, it is so cute. I know it might not be cute later…but now it is adorable.
Everyone else has been doing great too. Katrina and Sarah have a new job in Paris. They seem to like it. All the big boys are staying out of trouble. Josh and Jamie both have jobs they seem to like too. Austin graduated and will go to MSU this fall . Lee has stuck around this summer and not camped as much. I have enjoyed having him here. Michael came for a visit last weekend , it was nice to get to see him too. So all the kids are growing up…*sob* It really does happen overnight…
We also have many new animals. We have another bottle calf, a Holstein. He is probably the dumbest calf we have ever had. (sorry T-bone) He runs through his water bucket, flopping in the water. He will spill more milk than he drinks most times. He is getting better though. I try to remember he is just a baby. lol He really is a cutie though. He runs back and forth in his pen and Payton gets tickled. Even the big kids like to make him run and kick. We have to get him in a bigger pen soon, but after all the trouble we have had with the bigger calves…I dread the thought . They stay out more than in.
And then there is the milk cow..Flossie. She is so skinny she looks like a cartoon cow. She had a raging case of Mastitis. We have had her to the Vet and gave her tons of meds. Hopefully she is on the way to recovery. She at least is out on the pasture now and eating well. Now if she can just put on some weight so the neighbors don’t think we are starving her. But after the ordeal she has been through I can’t believe she is even walking at all. Much less doing as well as she is.I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop.
All the horses are doing well. And guess what. Ciskgo and Twister have made friends.
They are actually in the same field together. We had to put one of them in the barn so they could get used to each other first though. I was having visions of the horrible ordeal from last time.:O Jenny the donkey is due to have her baby any time. I hope it goes as well as last time. Last time we just looked out one morning…. and there was Daisy. After 3 Stillborn babies we were so happy to have a living , breathing donkey .
Many chickens too, and geese , and ducks…and turkeys. Too many really…but when the feed store has chicks…who can resist. I am going to sell some of the geese though. They are about to rupture our eardrums..not to mention that they are like a competitive eater at feed-time. They can scoop up massive amounts of feed in a short amount of time. And what goes in……..will come out . So they leave a mess in their wake. YUK
Well that is probably more than anyone wants to read, lol I am hoping to add more pics to website soon . I will also try to update more often. Thanks again to Kody for getting it where I can post.
ttyl,
Sabrina
Hi, Haven’t been on in a while but it has been kinda hectic. The rain I think has made us all grumpy!! The animals are all muddy an Gross and the yard is muddy and gross. Hard to be thinking about spring when you cant even stand up.
I will tell you about an interesting thing that happened today. Our cows got out today, not the baby ones but the longhorn heifers…. well they went back in fairly easy. But the way they went in was through the fence, tearing it all to pieces.grrrr We went all around and put it all back up and were still having trouble with the electric part. Josh and I were going to walk the fence for the millionth time I think and went behind the pond. Well with all the rain the pond has overfilled and went over the bank. And laying on the ground was a baby bluegill!! Josh was peeing on himself as he has become a fishing fool since they got the boat. He is seeing all the missed catches just laying in the dirt. We get a bucket and are out there in the rain *saving fishies* You would not believe how many little fish were on the ground. We didn’t even know we had fish in the pond. We had put some in after we would go fishing…but really never figured they were still there.
Needless to say it was fun , we saved alot of fishies and now we know they are there, I just hope they all didn’t wash away
Well all for now . Sabrina
Well I had intended to write something sooner, but things have been kinda hectic. The biggest thing is I am a “ganmonny” again. I am SO happy. Kaeli is beautiful and of course just as sweet as can be. Melissa did a fantastic job having her I was so proud. Everyone is so happy that she is finally here.
Payton is the best big brother. He seems happy ‘Baby sissy” is here too. He is so much fun . He comes up and plays quite a bit and we have so much fun. He really is growing fast . It seems like he should still be little like Kaeli. Time flies.
The little cows are growing too and I wish I could put pictures on here but I do have a thingy I put pics on , but don’t know how to send you there…phooey.
Well I am gonna hop off here and go to bed. I will update soon I hope..lol
